Ostick + Williams were employed by a developer for this 7 storey infill development consisting of 5 stories of apartments over ground and first floor commercial space. Providing 9 residential units on a tight infill site the building consists of 8no. 1 bed apartments and 1no. 2 bed apartment at the penthouse level.
On behalf of the developer we undertook an assessment of the planning approved proposals in order to rationalize the layouts and improve the space planning. Substantial redesign was required to ensure compliance with Building Regulations whilst adhering closely to the planning conditions. Other considerations to be taken on board during the design and construction phase included, rights of light, party wall awards and minimizing disruption to adjacent residential blocks.
