Sustainability

Sustainable built environments enhance quality of life, maximise the efficient use of resources and create the potential to deal with future change. These principals are embedded in our integrated management system which includes ISO 14001 environmental certification. We set targets to evaluate and improve the performance of our projects from inception to post-completion by implementing a sustainability checklist covering environmental, economic and social issues. We ensure that our designs meet our client’s aspirations and can verify delivery of sustainable design targets through the use of independent auditing toolkits such as BREEAM.

As part of our continual professional development programme our staff attend seminars and courses to stay informed of sustainable design developments and to facilitate in-house peer reviews. We consider sustainability in the context of whole-life costing and place emphasis on an integrated approach to design, construction, operation and maintenance. We have experience in the successful delivery of renewable technologies and low carbon energy across a number of sectors and we also utilise best practice design guidance relating to sustainable design, specification and procurement.
